Slam Poetry Performance
Duration: 50 minutes
In his rousing set, Zohab talented repertoire of passionate poetry, storytelling and freestyle hip-hop are utilised to enthrall and entertain. A proficient didgeridoo player, harmonica beat-boxer, and part-time comedian, his award-winning poetry is presented surrounded by laughs and rhythm. With his repertoire in tow, Zohab combines his performance with a discussion on self-development focussed on creating visions, achieving goals and getting you out of your seat confidence-building techniques. This performance is available for online and in person.
Slam Poetry Workshop
Duration: 60-90 minutes
In this dynamic workshop, Zohab starts with engaging performance activities and then moves on to writing exercises that focus on developing poetic techniques. The goal is to encourage self-expression, and by the end the boot camp, students will have created piece of work that can be performed. This workshop is offered both online and in-person.
Extended Poetry Workshop
Duration: One Day
This workshop expands on the activities offered in the boot camp to offer a learning experience focussed on building performance skills, confidence in self-expression, memorisation, poetic writing techniques and editing tips. Zohab guides the students with his unique brain hack activities to unlock the internal creativity that exists in all. Through diffuse thinking, even the most uncreative student learns to wield their brain to create innovative poetry. Students will have produced a polished piece ready for performance at the end of the day.
Poet in Residence
This program is the most popular choice as it utilises Zohab’s complete repertoire. It is aimed at providing skills for a lifetime, via an immersive learning journey into creative writing, performance and self-development. The goal of the residency is to have your very own poetry slam. The flexibility of an extended stay allows for a unique program to be developed for your school and provides maximum learning exposure for the students. Students will produce their slam poem ready for competition by the end of the residency.
